Bijou Spun - Lhasa Wilderness

Yarn Review

Today I’m introducing you one of the most luxurious fibers from Bijou Basin Ranch: Lhasa Wilderness, a yarn blend of 75% Tibetan Yak and 25% Bamboo in a sport weight. Yak fiber is warmer than wool, as soft as cashmere and definitely more sustainable. As for Bamboo, it is also softer, breathable & earth friendly.

So you get a yarn that is soft & non-allergenic enough to wear over your skin and also that is strong enough to be an admirable day-to-day wearable.

“Shimmery, light, and oh-so-soft, this blend of Yak and Bamboo is as delightful to knit with as it is to wear! Soft and lightweight yak fiber is blended to perfection with breathable bamboo fibers which are also naturally anti-bacterial. This yarn has it all: softness and strength, plus an excellent hand and drape, all in a versatile sport weight!”

My experience was a pure joy; it’s the softest thing I ever touched! And regardless of its delicate appearance it’s a sturdy yarn. I’m completely hooked. The colors that I feature here are the Natural Cream and Joseph, which has a lovely dye combination.

Without further ado I recommend this yarn.

“This yarn has it all: softness and strength, plus an excellent hand and drape, all in a versatile sport weight! Available in a soft natural brown, a creamy natural white as well as a base of 12 brilliant semi-solid hand-dyed by MJ Yarns. In addition to this baseline of color we have a multitude of variegated and other colors dyed for us by various color artists.”
